Newborn photoshoots are a real privilege; it is so lovely to spend time with a new family member and capture mementos of this short and precious time. I was therefore delighted to hear from Helen and Michelle who booked me to photograph their six week old son, Thomas, on a sunny day at their Brighton home. Little Thomas was just getting accustomed to having his eyes open – perfect timing! A mini model in the making, he was very happy to try on an assortment of outfits and was on best behaviour throughout the shoot. He spent most of the shoot staring at his mummys and seemed very contented, which I think the photos absolutely convey!
Staging a newborn shoot in the cosy comfort of one’s home is a great way to ensure that your little one feels as relaxed and comfortable as possible. You and the rest of the family are welcome to be as involved as you like, and we can even include your pets, like Ruby the dog here! For Thomas’ shoot we went for a balanced mix of colour and black and white shots, and also ventured outside whilst Thomas took a well earned nap.
