Location, location, location! There’s something truly magical about a family photoshoot amidst the beauty of the great outdoors. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing the pure essence of summer at Bignor Sunflower Farm in Sussex, and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a family session with three-and-a-half-year-old Honey and her parents.
Honey holds a special place in my heart as a previous client I photographed when she was just a baby. It was an absolute delight to reunite with her and document her growth into the lovely and curious little girl she has become.

Our adventure began as soon as we set foot in the sunflower fields, and we couldn’t resist exploring the sunflower maze. Yes, we did get lost, but that’s where the magic happened. The maze provided the perfect setting for capturing some fun action shots and creating sweet family memories that will be cherished for years to come.
One of the secrets to a successful outdoor photoshoot is choosing outfits that harmonize with the surroundings. For Honey and her family, we opted for a sage, denim, and white palette that beautifully complemented the lush green backdrop of the sunflower stems. The result? Honey’s joy was infectious as she delighted in spotting the many butterflies, busy bees (naturally!), and the astonishing variety of sunflowers that surrounded us. In fact, we discovered that there are a whopping 10 different varieties of sunflowers at Bignor Sunflower Farm! Each one added its unique charm to our photos.
All in all, it was a truly beautiful day filled with laughter, love, and the breathtaking beauty of the sunflower fields. The images we capture are not just photographs; they are windows into the warm memories that this lovely family will cherish forever.
